Born in New York, Glenn began his study of the violin at age 16, much later than most other young musicians.  However, he proved to be a very gifted student and began his performing career a little over a year later at the age of 17.  He was the Concert Master of the Youth Orchestra, performed recitals regularly and was also a member of the Paganini Club.  In 1975, Mr. Naydan attended the Congress of Strings where he studied with acclaimed violinist, Joyce Flissler.  Also in 1975, after less than two years of study, he received a full music scholarship to S.U.N.Y. to study under Dr. Nathan Gottschalk.  He won 1st prize in the 1980 S.U.N.Y. Concerto Competition, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance on Violin and Viola in the same year.

He relocated to California in 1981 to study viola with renowned violist, Rolf Persinger.  While in California, he began his professional orchestral career, performing with the Stockton, Modesto and Sacramento Symphonies.  He became a member of the popular Star-Lite Quintet in 1999, performing throughout Northern California and recording 2 CDs with the group.  In addition, he has also recorded with Kitara, Sacramento Symphony and Music in the Mountains Symphony.  He has been a member of the Sacramento Philharmonic, Ballet, Opera and Choral Society Orchestras, Gold Country Orchestra and was Concertmaster of the Merced Symphony.  He also regularly performs with many Northern California chamber groups.

A passionate and exciting teacher, Mr. Naydan draws on his extensive performance experience to create an individualistic, motivational teaching style in his violin & viola lessons.  Using the Suzuki Method, he also incorporates études and scale studies to improve overall technique and musicality.  With an emphasis on advanced technique at an early stage, he motivates his students to attain the fastest results possible as well as a thorough understanding of the joy and sensitivity of music.  He is known by his students as a highly motivational and inspirational violin teacher.
